Tracy
Pilates Instructor
Tracy has been part of Just Pilates STL since the very beginning.
She walked through our doors on June 4, 2024—as JPSTL's very first client.
A retired elementary teacher, Tracy had discovered Pilates years earlier through aerobics classes and rediscovered it after retirement when walking and lifting weights no longer felt challenging enough. She was also looking for a way to strengthen her shoulder and hopefully avoid surgery.
Pilates gave her much more than she expected.
Her shoulder grew stronger, but so did the rest of her—physically and mentally. Pilates repeatedly challenged her to move past the point where she wasn't sure she could do something and convince herself to keep trying. Along the way, she also found a community of women who became friends.
Eventually, Tracy decided she wanted to help other people experience that same feeling of becoming stronger. She began instructor training, completed her comprehensive Breathe Education certification, and is now a Just Pilates Instructor as well as Admin in the Office.
Tracy especially understands clients who are new to Pilates or intimidated by exercising in front of other people. She believes movement should be for everyone, regardless of experience, strength, or athletic ability.
Her message when you walk into class is simple:
Showing up for yourself is step one.
And she'll happily tell you she isn't perfect either. She'll make mistakes, laugh, and keep going—and you're allowed to do the same.
Outside the studio, Tracy is a retired teacher, hockey mom and cat mom who loves coffee, purple, crochet, ballroom dancing, musical theater, rock music, classic American muscle cars, and all things Wizard of Oz and Wicked.
