Katy
Pilates Instructor
Katy first walked into Just Pilates STL as a client on November 30, 2025, when a friend invited her to take a class.
She never turned back.
Always open to a new way to be active, Katy was surprised that a reformer workout could challenge her as much as the weights and cardio machines she was accustomed to at the gym. As she continued coming to class, she noticed greater muscle definition, increased flexibility, and—most importantly—how good she felt afterward.
Her progress happened quickly. Within months, Katy decided she wanted to share the joy and experience Pilates had brought to her own life. She completed her comprehensive Breathe Education training and the Just Pilates STL Student Teaching Practicum and was released to teach in August 2026.
Beginners especially light Katy up. She remembers being one herself and understands all the feelings that can come with trying something completely new. She wants clients to know they're seen and that the studio is a safe, comfortable place to build strength, confidence, friendships, and a movement practice that can grow with them.
Katy believes movement belongs in everyday life—not just in a Pilates studio. It can be walking, playing with kids or grandkids, or singing and dancing while cooking dinner.
Outside JPSTL, Katy has spent 23 years as a pediatric nurse. She's usually cheering on her kids at one sporting event or another, hiking or trail running with her dog, working out, or spending time with family and friends.
And, unexpectedly, she's also a self-taught juggler.
